| Baseball Tours 2001 |
| The
2001 baseball season of tours was just as exciting as I thought it would
be. Ballparks are like old friends that you never get tired of seeing. The
private tour of Yankee Stadium and Monument Park was absolutely
fantastic. To be able to walk on the same field as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle,
Joe Dimaggio, Lou Gerhig and Roger Maris, then set in the dugouts was a great
thrill for all the travelers. It is always a big thrill to visit Fenway Park and the Green
Monster and it is great to take new travelers with us and to see their
reaction to the many ballparks. PNC Park in Pittsburgh is a magnificent
new park with incredible sightlines both inside and outside the park. Comerica Park is amazing with its
incredible cityscape and the SkyDome was as impressive as ever with
the CN tower looming over rightfield as we got to see the dome opened
as we sat in the park. In 2000 our group caught, retrieved or begged
12 balls to set a one game record that will be tough to ever top. The Hall
of Fame Induction Ceremonies at Cooperstown are something that
every baseball fan should attend at least once in their life. It is inspirational.
We met Boog Powell at his bar-b-que pit at Camden
Yards and the food was as great as the conversation. Miller Park was as awesome
as advertised and Wrigley Field and Wrigleyville are just
unbeatable. Great fun was had by all and many new friends
were made. Go with us in 2002 and I promise you will have the time of your
life. Dan Lindsey
